Islamic Relief was founded in 1984 in the
United Kingdom and currently works in over 30 countries providing support to
those in need regardless of race, religion, ethnic, or political affiliations.
Because of its existence in Indonesia, Islamic Relief was able to respond in
Aceh just one day after the Tsunami struck in 2004. Since then, Islamic Relief
has constructed houses, schools, health clinics and numerous projects aimed at
supporting the recovery of over 100,000 Tsunami-affected people Aceh.

Islamic Relief seeks to hire committed and
experienced persons for the following positions:


Disaster
Risk Reduction Officer
( 2 Positions - Base in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam )


Overall
Responsibility
The DRR Officer
is responsible to assist DRR sector head in planning and monitoring of disaster
risk reduction projects. This will include training and capacity building,
project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, research and
programme development and networking and coordination.

Main
duties and responsibilities:

§ Assist DRR sector in planning, organizing, budget management andimplementing DRR project
§ Prepare
progress report of DRR project
§ Provide
technical support in DRR training and capacity building
§ Assist
DRR sector head to ensure that project goals are met.
§ Liaise with other NGOs, relevant government agencies and other
stakeholders to ensure a coordination of effort and lesson sharing.
§ Assist DRR sector head for disaster risk mapping studies and risk
reduction work plans.
§ Coordinate with other sectors for sharing information and lessons
learnt.
§ Ensure the quality andmaximum of impact of the disaster risk reduction project
§ Assist DRR sector head in preparing report to donor


Necessary qualifications:

Degree in any discipline from reputable university, At least 3 years of experience of working with disaster risk reduction, preparedness and development issues.Excellent interpersonal skills, creative, highly motivated, and able to express ideas clearly.Excellent spoken and written English language skills High level of competence in training disaster management.Can work under pressure
