The position

You will extend and program the computer tools available at Ecofys to advise our clients on
international climate policy. This includes data collecting, importing and processing, the
programming of algorithms, as well as analyzing and documenting of results.
The computer tools contain emissions of countries and sectors, greenhouse gas emission limits
under different equity principles, emission mitigation potential and associated costs.
In addition, you will support the group on international climate policy in acquiring, managing and
completing projects, writing research reports and providing ad-hoc advice. You will be based in our
Cologne office. Optionally the position can be combined with a PhD thesis

Your profile

You have a university degree in a natural science, technology or environmental sciences and have a
thorough background in computer programming (databases, VBA). You combine strong analytical
thinking with an interest in sustainable energy solutions. You have insight into the UNFCCC
international climate policy and the Kyoto Protocol. You are an inspiring team player; you have a
practical and commercial attitude and excellent communications skills. You are interested in and
used to working on (international) projects and meeting tight deadlines in terms of time and budget.
